Customer Rating: Summary: Best game ever Comment: This is the most fun snowboarding game I have ever played. It is very addicting! My 4 year old loves it as much as I do, it is not too hard for a kid to play but still fun for adults. In fact he is better at doing tricks than I am. Our disk was just damaged today so I am compelled to buy a new one.
Customer Rating: Summary: Greatest Snowboard game ever But watch out - Not Backward Compatible with Xbox 360 Comment: I couldn't wait to get this game now that I have an Xbox 360. I loved it on my PS2 and wanted it for my 360. Doesn't work on the 360 though. Think if I ask MS they'll make it Backward Compatible?
Customer Rating: Summary: Insane tricks, jumps and levels. Comment: For those of you who never really got into Cool Boarders or Amped because going down big, not so amazing slopes with the occasional drop or ramp didn't really make you stand up and start shouting in amazment, SSX Tricky might be what your looking for. This game isn't realistic, but I say that there's no point in playing a realistic game if the developers forgot to add fun. If flying off a cliff and falling through a 200 foot drop while busting out every trick you have ever heard of (or haven't heard of) doesn't trigger any kind of change in your posture, cause the hair on the back of your neck to stand up, or even make you raise your eyebrows, you have no soul. Your character can get through wipeouts without a scratch that would have broken every bone in a real persons body. None of the characters are real snow boarders, but they all have a very distinct personality. The courses are great and strewn with jumps and rails. The heart of SSX Tricky is in the games tons of crazy gravity-defying tricks to throw into insane combo strings. Every time you pull off a trick, your tricky meter increases and if you mess up it decreases. When it fills up completely, you can preform your characters insane signature tricks. The races are fun but not nearly as good as the showoffs. You can spend hours playing the same course over and over trying to beat your high score or perfect your technique. Mulitplayer is also great. Makeing your friends cry while you pull off an Experimental over their head is a blast in showoffs and races. I never really got into the story mode, but playing through it unlocks new outfits, boards, courses, ect. SSX Tricky isn't the most realistic snow boarding game out there (ok, so it's not very realistic at all) but it's more fun than any other snowboarding game I've ever played. It's based on thrills, not realism.
Customer Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT! Comment: This is possibly the best snowboarding. Nay,best Game Period EVER to come out for any platform. The addicting, ADD style of racing mixed with the need to do tricks is one of the most brilliant concepts that could ever be explored.
If you almost buy this and back out then you are seriously missing out. It is fantastic. See also SSX 3.
It also is funny because Rahzel is perhaps the dumbest DJ ever. And he does all of the narration for the game. RIKKI RIKKI RAHZEL! BRRRNH BRRRRNH....Buy this. Now.
Customer Rating: Summary: A very annyoing game... Comment: This is a good game if you love to spend your life trying to perfect how to play complex video games. If you just want some satisfying game play, don't look here.
Another average game in the EA line up. For some reason, they make the most simplified games, the most boring game that become popular, or in this case, the most impossible game to ever complete. (Unless you want to play it 8 hours a day for a month or two)
The point of the game is to complete world medal on snowboard courses around the world by racing other characters, and by doing solo stunt runs down those same courses filled with rails. As you learn to execute tricks, you unlock clothes and boards for the characters. As you make medals on courses you get stat points to boost your character's abilities.
The problem, aside from tricks being overly complex, is that it presents itself as a lame game right off the bat as you race- just crouch and and corner, AND YOU WIN! So the race is ridiculous....don't do stunts. Then, when you need to do tricks for the SHowoff chapters, it is so darn difficult to learn the proper timing holding in 3 or 4 buttons, releasing, pressing 2 more, then another, then releasing one and then pushing two more, and all the time keeping an eye on your rotations, etc, that you will have to practice for days to complete the trick book.
Also, the characters you race against have friend/enemy meters....you can shove people down and slowly raise the enemy standing, but can never lower it again. Not that it matters since the races are so easy to win gold on every time, even without special boards or tricks.
I completed all races and some show offs, and have unlocked all tricks. Finally, I am disgusted beyond belief with this game. If you want the truth- this is just a sort of rip off of KINETICA; a far better racing/trick game featuring cool design, actual challenge, and beautiful movement.
